About the Swim
Water temperatures at Chena Lake are on the cool side (55 to 65 degrees). It is advised that athletes wear wetsuits, but these are not mandatory. Per USAT rules, wetsuits are allowed for all participants if the water temperature is 78 F or lower.
The swim begins with a mass start in the water. The course will be marked with large orange floats at each turn. The race begins on the eastern shore at the first parking area on Lake Front Drive and proceeds counterclockwise in a large triangle around the lake where you will exit to transition to the bike.
Relay swimmers will enter the transition area, run through it and back out to tag their cyclist.
